My work is based on a series of conclusions derived from a constant quest for something that can be called “the vital energy” or “the essence” of the infinitely complex architecture of each moment, as a mean for self reflection and integration to what I call “Self Data Base” the personal archive that stores my way of perceiving and processing information and the events of daily life.
Departing from a process where visual information is deconstructed to “raw matter” and decoded, I look for the creation of a conscious link between the “Eye” or the natural and the never ending flow of data of this digital era. Visceral images, the everyday and the visual accidents that recreate and refresh my perception with certain pictorial validity, give rise to metaphors of this Multi-mediatic reality that we live in. As this process goes on, a pattern of “casual pictography” unfolds, one consistent with my search and consequent with my intention of presenting instead of re-presenting a visual language, questioning in this manner our speed up life-style that strips us of the beauty of each moment and reminding my audience at the same time of our existential fragility.
The choice of utilizing painting and drawing as my main media and language is an important side of my discourse. Consequently with the idea of a revival of our attention, this choice originates from my intention to rescue and re-validate traditional aesthetic values in the work of art and a return to a the natural essence of things this time underlined as visual energy.
